Ondo Intelligent Portfolios Expand to Solana, With Caveats for Investors
Ondo says all seven of its Intelligent Portfolios are now live on Solana for eligible investors outside the United States. Each portfolio is packaged as a single onchain token representing a professionally curated mix of investments. But holding the token does not give you ownership rights in the underlying assets.
- Seven portfolios cover income, growth and thematic strategies.
- Ondo reports more than $40 million in combined TVL on Ethereum and BNB Chain during the products’ first four weeks.
- BlackRock supplies model strategies for three portfolios, but does not manage or endorse the onchain products.
- Eligibility, portfolio mechanics and investment risks vary, and key product details remain unanswered.
The announcement, dated Oct. 29, 2026, brings the portfolios to Solana after their launch on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Ondo says each token combines multiple holdings, makes them visible and rebalances the portfolio programmatically. That means a programmed process adjusts the allocations.
Ondo says the portfolios exceeded $40 million in total value locked (TVL) across Ethereum and BNB Chain during their first four weeks. The release does not explain how it calculated the figure. TVL measures the value associated with a product, but says nothing on its own about investor returns or profitability.
Seven portfolios, from income to AI
BlackRock Fund Advisors supplies nondiscretionary model strategies for three portfolios. Ondo says it designed the other four.
- BLKHIon: Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock
- BLKGRWon: Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock
- BLKDIGon: Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock
- MAG7Xon: Ondo Magnificent 7 and Crypto Portfolio
- BRAINon: Ondo AI Leaders Portfolio
- YLD5on: Ondo 5 Targeted Income TR Portfolio
- YLD8on: Ondo 8 Targeted Income TR Portfolio
The announcement says investors can see the holdings, but does not list each portfolio’s exact assets, weights, fees or rebalancing rules. Investors will need to check the relevant product materials for those details. “AI Leaders” describes a theme. It does not tell you how concentrated the portfolio is, what it costs or how risky it may be.
What “Powered by BlackRock” means
Ondo’s disclosures give BlackRock a limited role. BlackRock provides model portfolio strategies based on specifications from Ondo. It does not manage the onchain portfolios, select or endorse their assets, or make investment decisions for them.
The disclosures also say the portfolios may differ from the corresponding BlackRock strategies and may not be updated to reflect market changes. Those strategies may include funds managed by BlackRock or its affiliates, which may earn fees. Ondo identifies this as a potential conflict of interest.
The BlackRock branding does not mean the company runs or guarantees these products. Ondo’s disclosures place portfolio management and investment decisions elsewhere.
What the tokens represent, and what they do not
Ondo says all seven portfolios are available through leading Solana wallets and apps to eligible investors outside the U.S., subject to restrictions in each jurisdiction. The announcement does not define eligibility for every jurisdiction or name all supported wallets and apps.
Ondo also reports more than $500 million in TVL on Solana across its tokenized assets and says more than 1.6 million Solana addresses hold tokenized stocks. These figures come from the company. The announcement gives no calculation method or separate measurement date. And an address count does not equal a count of individual investors, since one person can control multiple addresses.
These portfolios are separate from Ondo Stocks, a platform the company says offers economic exposure to hundreds of U.S. stocks and ETFs. Ondo’s disclosures say its stock tokens are not stocks, ETFs or ADRs, and do not give holders ownership rights or the right to receive the underlying securities. They may provide economic exposure that includes dividend value after applicable tax withholdings.
The portfolio announcement describes tokens that package multiple holdings, but does not explain in detail how each portfolio gets that exposure or how its legal and operational structure works. It names Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited as the token issuer. Ondo Finance Inc. provides tokenization services to that company and holds equity in it. These distinctions matter. A portfolio token is not interchangeable with a share or fund unit, and the announcement does not establish that holders have a direct claim on the assets it references.
Convenience, with due diligence still required
A single token could make it easier to access a portfolio and use it in compatible Solana applications. Ondo’s John Hoffman said the portfolios would be “composable across the Solana ecosystem.” The announcement does not name specific integrations, so it remains unclear how much functionality investors will actually get.
Ondo warns that investors could lose their entire purchase price and that past performance does not predict future results. The release includes no portfolio-specific performance figures. It also leaves practical questions about costs, liquidity, custody, redemptions and rebalancing unanswered.
Key questions and answers
-
Who can access the portfolios on Solana?
Ondo says they are available to eligible investors outside the United States, subject to applicable restrictions.
-
Does a portfolio token confer ownership of its underlying assets?
No. Ondo’s disclosures say holders do not receive ownership rights in the underlying assets.
-
Does BlackRock manage the three branded portfolios?
No. BlackRock supplies nondiscretionary model strategies. Ondo says BlackRock does not manage or endorse the onchain portfolios, or make investment decisions for them.
-
What does the $40 million TVL figure measure?
Ondo says the portfolios exceeded that figure on Ethereum and BNB Chain combined during their first four weeks. The release does not explain how it calculated the figure, and TVL does not measure investment returns.
-
What product details should investors check?
Check each portfolio’s holdings, weights, fees, rebalancing rules, liquidity, custody and redemption terms. The launch announcement does not provide all these details.
Solana gives Ondo another network for offering packaged investment strategies. Before buying, investors should check what each token represents, how it works and what it costs. A portfolio name or prominent financial brand cannot answer those questions.
