So is the catch: infrastructure businesses do not run on narrative fumes. They run on power, land, cooling, chips, and actually getting the thing built on time.

IREN said it has secured $2.8 billion in new multi-year cloud services contracts. That target is not the same thing as booked accounting revenue. That distinction matters because markets love to blur it when the AI story gets hot. Signed contracts matter, but they still have to become delivered capacity, recognized revenue, and cash flow. If the buildout slips, the numbers on the slide deck start looking a lot less heroic.

IREN says roughly 85% of its more-than-$4 billion ARR ambition is already backed by multi-year contracts. They are acknowledging that a project of this size has very little slack. Miss the schedule, miss the power hookup, miss the GPU delivery window, or miss customer onboarding, and the revenue ramp gets pushed right back.
