Qapture Announces QHVN-USD DeFi Strategy, but Key Performance Details Remain Unclear

Qapture Introduces QHVN-USD, a Managed Stablecoin Strategy for Eligible Investors

Qapture Investments says its QHVN-USD strategy will seek returns from DeFi liquidity pools, with access limited to eligible professional, accredited and institutional investors. The announcement describes a managed on-chain account with operational controls, but leaves key details unclear, including performance data, pool selection and withdrawal timing.

  • QHVN-USD seeks returns by supplying liquidity to major U.S. dollar stablecoin pairs.
  • It is offered through separately managed accounts and is not available to retail investors.
  • Qapture claims a track record of more than three years but provides no performance figures.
  • Returns are not guaranteed; investors could lose principal.

What QHVN-USD does, and what remains unclear

Qapture’s announcement is dated Nov. 4, 2026, and lists Hamilton, Bermuda, as its dateline. Before publication, the date and whether the strategy is live or accepting accounts should be confirmed. The announcement does not establish that it is operational.

Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd. manages the strategy, which aims to generate returns by supplying liquidity to pools on established decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Liquidity pools facilitate trades between digital assets. Providers may earn fees or other returns, but they also face risks tied to the pool, its smart contracts, the assets involved and their ability to withdraw.

Qapture says the strategy will focus on major U.S. dollar stablecoin pairs and follow defined risk limits. It does not name the stablecoins or protocols, explain how it selects pools or specify the limits.

The company also says QHVN-USD has a track record of more than three years. But the announcement includes no performance figures, dates for the period, volatility or drawdown data, or explanation of what the track record covers. With the information provided, investors cannot assess the claim or see how the strategy performed in different market conditions.

“DeFi needs regulated, professionally managed investment products for greater investor adoption, ” said Brendan MacNeil, Qapture’s head of DeFi. Professional management can bring oversight and operating procedures to DeFi exposure, but it cannot remove protocol, stablecoin or market risk.

Managed accounts and on-chain controls

The first QHVN-USD offering is structured as a separately managed account (SMA) under an investment management agreement with Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd. An SMA is generally managed for an individual client under an agreement, rather than pooling clients’ assets in a common fund. The announcement does not provide the full agreement terms, including fees or minimum investment amounts.

Qapture says smart contracts manage assets according to a defined strategy, and investors can view holdings and performance. Holdings are calculated and published daily. The announcement does not say where they are published or whether the figures are independently verified.

The company also says it cannot move investor assets on its own or send them to addresses outside an approved list. The announcement does not explain how those restrictions work alongside the strategy’s use of DeFi, who approves transactions or how the controls would respond to a compromised system. An approved-address list can limit where assets go, but it does not by itself establish that the strategy or its custody arrangements are secure.

Investors may request withdrawals at any time, Qapture says, subject to the redemption terms in their agreement. The right to request a withdrawal does not promise immediate payment. Processing times and the effects of protocol or market liquidity conditions are not specified.

Onboarding includes know-your-customer and know-your-business checks (KYC/KYB). Qapture says participation is restricted to verified, eligible professional, accredited and institutional investors under applicable law. Retail investors are excluded.

Providers behind the vault

Several providers support the vault’s infrastructure. Midas, part of Aegis Labs, supplies white-label vault technology, including token issuance, oracle-based net asset value (NAV) pricing, and mint-and-redeem mechanics. NAV is the reported value of assets, while an oracle supplies data to blockchain applications. The announcement does not explain QHVN-USD’s pricing methodology.

Qapture says Midas supports more than US$1 billion in assets across institutional vault products and has more than US$4 billion in total assets minted. The announcement gives no as-of date and does not define whether the minted-assets figure is cumulative. Neither figure measures QHVN-USD’s assets or performance.

1Token provides portfolio reporting and NAV accounting. The company says it supports more than $20 billion in asset monitoring globally. Fordefi provides the vault’s multi-party computation (MPC) wallet platform, policy engine and approval groups. MPC distributes signing authority among parties or key shares instead of relying on one conventional private key. The announcement does not detail Fordefi’s configuration for QHVN-USD. Fordefi reports securing more than $64 billion in monthly transaction volume for over 350 institutions. These figures come from the providers and do not show how the vault performs or how secure it is.

Nemean Services holds backup key material for disaster recovery, while Hypernative monitors vault activity and underlying protocols for threats. These services provide reporting, recovery and monitoring, but cannot guarantee that losses or operational failures will be prevented.

U.S. access and regulatory distinctions

Protocol Wealth, LLC, a Denver-based SEC-registered investment adviser, may evaluate QHVN-USD for eligible U.S. advisory clients. The firm says it will follow its usual suitability and diligence process. Access is not automatic or guaranteed.

“Our collaboration with Qapture allows us to evaluate QHVN-USD for eligible clients and, where appropriate, provide access within an SEC-registered advisory relationship, ” said Jason Leupold, Protocol Wealth’s chief investment officer.

Protocol Wealth’s SEC registration does not mean the SEC has approved QHVN-USD. Qapture says Qapture Investments (BVI) Ltd. is approved by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission as an Approved Investment Manager. That status is separate from U.S. adviser registration and does not guarantee returns or protect investors from losses. Eligibility and regulatory treatment depend on the relevant jurisdiction and account terms.

Key questions about QHVN-USD

  • Who can invest in QHVN-USD?

Qapture says it is limited to eligible professional, accredited and institutional investors under applicable law. Retail investors cannot invest.

  • Are returns guaranteed?

No. Qapture warns that returns are not guaranteed and investors could lose principal. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

  • What does the claimed three-year track record show?

Qapture says the strategy has a track record of more than three years, but provides no performance figures or other data to assess it. The company also does not define what the record covers.

  • Which stablecoins and protocols will it use?

The announcement does not name them. It says only that QHVN-USD will provide liquidity to major U.S. dollar stablecoin pairs on established DeFi protocols.

  • How quickly can investors withdraw?

Investors may request withdrawals under the redemption terms in their agreement. Qapture has not specified processing times or how liquidity conditions could affect payment.

  • What risks should investors assess?

Qapture’s disclosures identify risks involving DeFi protocols and smart contracts, stablecoin and reserve stability, market liquidity, third-party providers, and legal or regulatory changes. Monitoring and operational controls may help manage exposure, but they do not eliminate these risks.

Managed DeFi exposure still calls for due diligence

QHVN-USD aims to combine on-chain strategies with investment agreements, eligibility checks, reporting and operational controls. That could suit investors who want DeFi exposure without handling protocol interactions themselves.

A managed account still carries risk, and a stablecoin’s dollar peg does not guarantee liquidity or protect principal. To assess the strategy, investors will need details missing from the announcement, especially its fees, precise risk limits, historical performance and redemption procedures. The stated track record and safeguards are claims to examine, not a substitute for that information.
